rock legend Paul Di’Anno was yesterday jailed for nine months – as a dole cheat.
The former Iron Maiden singer, real name Paul Andrews, performed solo gigs worldwide while claiming £45,479 in state hand-outs. Andrews, 52, who arrived using a walking stick, showed no emotion as he was sent down.
He had claimed a back injury prevented him from working. But Andrews, who once described himself as the “wildest man in rock”, was shown on video leaping around on stage in more than 50 world tour concerts.
